Message and App Size Limits
Learn about Mocha message allowances and app size limitations
In Mocha, there are two limits that you should be aware of:
Message Limits
How many messages do I get?
Everyone gets 15 messages for free. If you’re on the free tier, that’s it.
On a bronze, silver or gold plan you get 250, 750, and 3000 messages a month respectively. These refill every month.
- 🥉Bronze: 250 messages a month
- 🥈Silver: 750 messages a month
- 🥇Gold: 3000 messages a month
How do you count messages?
We only count successful messages. These could be either an edit, or a chat mode message. You can track your message usage by clicking the main dropdown menu in the top left corner.
What if I hit the message limit, can I top it up?
Yes, you can buy one-off add-ons for 100, and $1000 from the subscription management modal.
Do messages roll over from month to month?
Subscription messages get reset, but purchased and gifted credits are kept forever.
I used all my messages by clicking “Fix with AI”, what should I do?
You can email us at support@getmocha.com from the email associated with the account. In general, only use Fix with AI once or twice, if the AI can’t fix it automatically you should try a different strategy or ask for help in our Discord.
How can I purchase more messages?
The best value for more messages comes from upgrading to a higher plan. You can also purchase messages as add-ons from the subscription modal.
App Size Limits
Mocha’s AI agent can handle apps of virtually any size, with limits varying by subscription tier:
- 🥉Bronze: Limited app size (suitable for small to medium projects)
- 🥈Silver: Nearly unlimited app size
- 🥇Gold: Even larger app size, and uses our greedy agent mode.
Starting with the Silver tier, you can build large, complex applications without worrying about size constraints. The limits are set so high that they’re effectively unlimited for most use cases.
I keep seeing “Project size exceeds maximum allowed <tier> limits”. What can I do?
If you’re on the Bronze tier and encountering size limits, upgrading to Silver or Gold will give you nearly unlimited capacity to continue building your app.
The Bronze tier is designed for smaller projects and learning. For production applications or larger codebases, we recommend upgrading to Silver or Gold for the best experience.
